Penta Retains Intercontinental Title Against Ethan Page
Penta retained the Intercontinental Championship by defeating Ethan Page at Saturday Night's Main Event on May 23, 2026, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Page nearly secured an upset victory after sending Penta into an exposed turnbuckle and attempting a schoolboy pin, but the referee only counted to two. Penta then countered with a Mexican Destroyer off the middle rope to secure the pinfall.
Page, a former NXT champion and the longest-reigning NXT North American champion, controlled portions of the match, including throwing Penta onto the announce table. He prevented a count-out by returning Penta to the ring after the impact outside. The contest took place at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.
Penta captured the title on March 2 by defeating Dominik Mysterio on Monday Night Raw. The victory over Page marked his seventh successful defense, which included a six-way ladder match at WrestleMania 42. Page earned the title opportunity ahead of other contenders such as Rusev and Je’Von Evans.
Penta is expected to face additional challengers for the Intercontinental Championship in the coming weeks.
